And if so when? or is this for some time in the future?
Isa 10:16 Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.
Isa 10:17 And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;
Isa 10:18 And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth.
Isa 10:19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
General principle about prophecy:
- our Eternal God has Eternal word,
- the prophecies that He gives to his servants reveals Truth which is true forever
- those prophecies might have been happened in the past, but that Eternal Truth makes it accomplished again and again, more than once in the future
-All those prophecies should be accomplished fully in Jesus the Christ, if not in his first coming, then the second coming.
So for Isa 10, it has been accomplished in Assyria, but Jesus will accomplish it in it's fullness (Isa 10:17)
Remember, all authority is Jesus' and even the authority of the Antichrist is 'from' him, that's why we see for example in Rev 13:7 "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations." (take note of the word: 'was given')
So the same pattern in Isa 10 will happen with the Antichrist, power will be given to him, but he will over-use it, and judgment will fall upon him.
